Reinvent Yourself During COVID-19 Pandemic
Updated: Apr 4
“Mindset is what separates the best from the rest”
Our mind is the most precious commodity we have. We are currently seeing major world disruption and the global collapse of systems and processes that don’t work.
Now is the time to invest in expanding our consciousness to inspire the innovation needed to usher humanity into a bright new future.
Here are some action steps you can take during quarantine to help you with a mindset that produces the highest possible outcome.
1. Online Meditation Class
Our mind is the most precious commodity we have, and now is the best time to invest in it. Use this time to reinvent yourself. Meditation is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety that hinders us from reaching our full potential.
2. Subscription Boxes
From makeup, fitness gear, personalized fashion, meal kits, pet products, and other specialty items, subscription boxes are a great way to try new things and reinvent yourself during #stayhome. Order one for a surprise for yourself or send one as a gift.
3. Online Yoga Class
It’s important not to sit on the couch, eating junk food and binge-watching Netflix during this time. Those habits may be hard to break later. Try to establish and keep a normal routine or create your new norm with online yoga classes. Yoga decreases stress, relieves anxiety and improves overall health and quality of life.
4. Learn an Instrument
Have a song you’ve always wanted to learn to play or sing for fun or at a dinner party? Many local musicians and music schools are continuing private lessons or classes online. Now is a good time to expand your consciousness with music. Learning music is a life-long gift and discipline to enjoy.
5. Learn a Language
Engage with the world in a more immediate and meaningful way by learning another language. Bilinguals have the opportunity to communicate with a wider range of people in their personal and professional lives. Attend a virtual language school or connect with someone online.
6. Take or Teach an Online Cooking Class
Now is the time to start your YouTube cooking channel if you’ve always wanted to. Many local restaurant chefs are going online teaching cooking classes and delivering ingredients for the dish along with other groceries. Some are delivering wine and then live streaming a group tasting. The sky is the limit on how creative you can be. Use this time to learn how to make new meals for your family and entertain like a pro.
7. Stream the Seattle Symphony
Keep the music alive! Listening to the classics while sipping a great glass of wine, is one of the best ways to relax and develop your appreciation for music. The Seattle Symphony is sharing performances to offer strength, comfort, and unity during #coronavirus #COVID-19
8. Share Skill Development
Corporations can employ their key leaders and influencers to create micro-content modules for sales skills and training. Use this time to develop your team’s skills by teaching them how to get meetings and brainstorm solutions to industry-related issues. We also love the wealth of knowledge on SkillShare.
9. Virtual Volunteer Program
Volunteer to teach a private or group English class. Offer complimentary life coaching or health and wellness skills to start building a clientele base. Write letters to pen pals around the world who are struggling with stress and anxiety. Use this time to make a difference and discover meaningful work you enjoy.
10. Virtual Dance Classes or Competitions
Dancing is great for the mind and body. It brings so much to your life, it’s a great workout, can enhance your social life and self-confidence and it is a great outlet for self-expression and creativity. Dance with others around the world right from your living room.
11. Start a Question of the Day Trend
This is a great way to interact with your social media following. Choose a different discussion topic each day and ask people to weigh in with their thoughts. It’s a fun way to learn things you didn’t know about people and to expand your awareness of trending topics.
12. Send and Give Shout Outs
Remember the good old postal system? Now may be a good time to sit down and write a handwritten note or thank you card to people who have made a difference in your life. Corporations can send them within their company to give shout outs to employees who have helped advance the company, its values and its people.
13. Join an Online Book Club
Discover the world through books. Virtually meet other like-minded people in an online book community. Consider titles and genres that expand your consciousness and creativity.
